VHF 50/50 Raffle SMS Campaigns
Roles & Responsibilities: Project Manage, Draft Messaging, Software Set-up, Send Messages Tracking & Analysis, and Reporting.

The Victoria Hospital Foundation runs a monthly 50/50 Raffle where one of their marketing tactics is a monthly SMS Text Messaging Campaign.

Each campaign consists of around 5000-8000 contacts that must be manually sent an initial message. Once that initial message has been sent and depending on if they reply there are prewritten responses to go along with each reply (Yes, No, Already purchased, Opt-out, What's the current jackpot, & a Unique response). Each message can be altered and customized according to the response provided. The unique message is for people experiencing hard times and in need of VHF's mental health care program (the message sends a link to their program site).

As the project manager, it is my responsibility to oversee the entirety of the campaign. From drafting the copy to setting it up in the system to sending each message individually, all the way to analyzing and reporting the responses. With each campaign, I work alongside VHF to tweak the messaging to see what people respond to more positively (A+B tests included).

So far with 11 campaigns VHF has raised $73,360 ($36,680 of that going to the hospital and the other 50% given out as part of the Raffle's reward). This campaign has brought a tremendous lift to the raffles over its lifespan and we continue to use this tactic as it is a cheap efficient way to raise funds and create awareness for the monthly Raffles.
