Toronto Website Redesign
Roles & Responsibilities: Project Manage, User Research, User Design, UX/UI, Design (wireframe, page design, prototypes), code (HTML, CSS, JavaScript).

My team and I were tasked with Toronto Cupcake, a cupcake shop in Toronto in desperate need of a website overhaul. We first broke down the target audience by filling out our empathy map and who we thought would be a common customer. We each interview three people to get a better understanding of what people want to see in a cupcake shop and what they aim to get out of the experience. This helped us create our persona and who we would be designing the website for. Gwen Stone, a working mother planning her daughter's 14th birthday party and wants to get gluten-free cupcakes. By filling out our customer journey map we discovered that the current website requires the user to take several steps and change devices to complete a custom order. Also, the payment process cannot be made directly on the site and currently sends the customer an email to complete their purchase after the order has been reviewed and accepted.

Before designing we created a POV and How Might We statement to refer back to during the design process. Throughout the design process, we strived to solve the issue of a time-consuming and confusing process by designing a cupcake customization process that is quick and comfortable for all users. We designed wireframes, designs, & prototypes for both the mobile and desktop versions.

After our designs and research were complete we coded the website in a school project-style functioning live website (click "view website" to check it out).
